Surprise proposal at Labyrinth Park of Horta

Surprise proposal photo shoot in BarcelonaJames and Laura came to Barcelona for a long weekend vacation. Apparently, for Laura this should have been just a welcoming escape to sunny Spain but James had a different plan since before leaving their wet England. In fact, James contacted me a couple of weeks before by email because he was looking for a personal photographer in Barcelona. He had a photo shoot in mind to be located in a romantic location in town suitable for proposal. He asked me for setting the photo shoot at Park Güell as this is the Barcelona’s epicenter for romanticism for most of tourists. As they were coming to Barcelona at the end of summer, when Park Güell is still very crowded with tourists, I replied to James by suggesting a different location: the Labyrinth Park of Horta.

This historical garden, nicely located in a quiet hilly suburb, is a hidden gem in Barcelona. Strangely, ignored by most of tourists, the Labyrinth Park of Horta is a romantic garden, which means the perfect location for a surprise proposal: quiet, green and beautiful. I sent a few images to James enough to convince him quickly about changing his mind for the location of the photo session. We agreed to meet at the entrance of the park in a weekday. I had suggested James the right place for the surprise proposal with a photo sent by email previously. We were the only visitors in the Labyrinth Park of Horta. Laura was really excited since the begin and she totally ignored what she was going to experience. I took lots of photos of them in different places inside the gardens. The Labyrinth Park of Horta is really a romantic place for a romantic photo shoot in Barcelona. Once we got at the place X, James knelt down before her with an elegant small red box containing the ring. He felt totally excited as he was proposing to Laura while I was shooting the pretty tears of joy falling down from her eyes. Shooting a surprise proposal is always a pleasant emotion even for the photographer. Laura was the personification of happiness for the rest of the photo session. The beautiful and peaceful background of the Labyrinth Park of Horta did the rest.
